About JVC

Vanderkolk Construction Inc. is a family owned and operated business that was started in 1978 by John and Carolyn Vanderkolk.  With a truck and one single employee, John and his loving wife Carolyn set out to build a business that would support their family.   In 1993 Ty Vanderkolk, John and Carolyn's son, joined the company after graduating from Purdue University.  Ty has been leading and growing the company for the past 20 years.   Upon retirement of Carloyn, 2008, Peggy Knoy (Ty's Sister) took over the role of secretary.  Over the past few decades, we have had the opportunity to grow and add excellent tradesmen and staff from our close family company.   In 2007 Seth Graves joined the team as a carpenter and is currently the lead project manager over all projects and part owner.   We currently have 9 full time employees.  This includes Kali Vanderkolk (Ty's daughter) who joined the company in 2017 after high school as a carpenter and is currently helping to manage and complete our projects.  Upon graduation from Purdue University in 2022, Maddy Solis (Ty's daughter) also joined our team as our in-house interior designer.   We are so fortunate to have close friends and family working with us on a daily basis.  This close-knit team has allowed us to continue the family business that John and Carolyn began so long ago.
